6.8.2 Fuel prefilter cleaning

Preconditions

• Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

• Avoid naked flames, electrical sparks and ignition sources.

• Do not smoke.

Fuel prefilter cleaning

1. Shut off fuel supply.

2. Remove nuts from filter head.

3. Take off filter housing and drain fuel into

appropriate container.

4. Remove filter-element securing nut and remove

filter element by pulling it downwards.

5. Wash filter element in clean fuel using a smooth

rush.

6. Wash filter housing with clean fuel.

7. Insert filter element into filter housing and secure

with n

ut.

8. Place new sealing ring into groove in filter head.

9. Fit cover with seal and secure it with nuts

10. Open fuel supply.
