6.17.2 Battery-charging generator drive – drive belt condition check

Preconditions

• Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

Belt condition check

1. Remove guard cover.

2. Check belt for contamination by oil, cracks, wear,

and signs of overheating.

3. Replace drive belt:

• If belt is oily;

• If belt shows signs of overheating;

• If ribs are broken around the entire

circumference (A);

• If ribs are broken around the entire

circumference and material is broken off in

some places (B) (→ Page 6 – 56).

4. Install guard cover.
