6.17.3 Battery-charging generator d rive – Drive belt replacement

Preconditions

• Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

1. Remove guard cover.

2. Remove ventilator drive belt (applicable only to

TD cooling). (→ Page 6 – 60)

3. Loosen securing screws (2 and 3).

4. Release tensioning screw (1) until the ribbed

belt can be removed.

5. Check belt pulleys for cleanliness, remove

dirt, i f any.

6. Fit new drive belt.

7. Tension drive belt with tensioning nut (1) and

check belt tension (→ Page 6 – 53).

8. Tight

en securing screw (2).

• Tightening torque: 40 Nm +4 Nm

9. Tighten securing screw (3).

10. Install ve

ntilator drive belt (→ Page 6 – 60)

11. Install guard cover.
