DANGER
Unguarded rotating and moving engine components.

 Take special care when working on a running engine.
WARNING
Coolant is hot and under pressure.
Risk of injury and scalding!
 Let the engine cool down.
 Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles / safety mask.
WARNING
Engine noise above 85 dB (A).
Risk of damage to hearing!
 Wear ear protectors.
Engine coolant  sample extraction and analysis
1. With the engine running, open drain valve.
2. Flush sample-extraction point by draining approx.
1 liter coolant.
3. Drain approx. 1 liter coolant into a clean
container.
4. Close drain valve.
5. Using the equipment and chemicals of the MTU
test kit, examine coolant for:
 antifreeze concentration;
 corrosion inhibitor concentration;
 pH value.
6. Change engine coolant according to the coolant
operating times specified in the MTU Fluids and
Lubricants Specification (
Page 6  41).
