7.13.2 Engine oil – Change
Preconditions
☑Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
☑Engine is at operating temperature.
☑MTU Fluids and Lubricants Specification (A001061/..) is available.

WARNING
Hot oil.
Oil can contain combustion residues which are harmful to health.
Risk of injury and poisoning!
• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles / safety mask.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Do not inhale oil vapor.
Procedure without pump: Draining oil at drain plug on oil pan
1. Provide a suitable container in which to collect the oil.
2. Remove drain plug and drain oil.
3. Install drain plug with new sealing ring.
Procedure with pump: Oil extraction
1. Provide a suitable container in which to collect the oil.
2. Extract all oil from oil pan using the pump.
Filling with new oil
1. Open cover of filler neck.
2. Pour oil in at filler neck up to "max." mark
at oil dipstick.
3. Close cover of filler neck.
4. Check engine oil level (→ Page 94).
5. After oil change, bar engine with starting
system (→ Page 54).
