Installation Guide

VALVE CONNECTION TYPES
Threaded, Compression, Sweat, SLIP, PUSH
THREADED
Used to connect to black or galvanized steel pipe, copper, PVC & CPVC
The connection is made by threading the valve onto the tting, nipple or pipe. Thread
sealant is usually applied prior to installation for a water tight connection.
COMPRESSION
Used to connect to copper piping only
No outside material is required to make this connection. The ferrule will tighten
around the pipe as the nut is tightened providing a water tight seal.
SWEAT
Used to connect to copper piping only
For this connection, solder and a torch are needed. By heating the pipe with the
torch, solder can be applied to ll the gaps and permanently join the two pieces.
SLIP
Used to connect to PVC & CPVC
This connection requires glue to join the two pieces together. Simply clean the
connection, then apply the glue to connect.
ALWAYS CONSULT LOCAL PLUMBING CODES PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY PROJECT!
