14.2.3. Making mixer inputs switchable
Mixer switches are used when you need to be able to
activate and turn off mixer inputs using a switch. With
clever combinations of switches for the flight phases,
it is possible to switch mixer inputs off and on in in-
dividual flight phases.
Two steps are necessary in order to use a mixer
switch:
Assign a control element
(Menu: Setup, Assignment, Switches
Mix-1, Mix-2 or Mix-3).
Attachthe mixer input to a switch
(Menu: Setup, Mixer def., desired mixer, desired
input).
Assigning a control element for the mixer switch:
The control element for the three mixer switches can
be any of the mechanical switches G to P, the control
switches on the throttle / spoiler / collective pitch stick,
or slider E or F.
Attaching” a mixer input to a mixer switch:
When defining mixers in the menu Setup, Mixer def.
you can select the switches directly or reversed (in-
verted).
The following possibilities can be selected in the
Switches column:
Assigned function
The mixer input is ...
ON
... always switched on
Mx1
... only switched on,
if the switch is at its ON position (in the
case of three-stage switches OFF / OFF
/ ON)
Mx2
Mx3
OFF
... always switched off
Mx1N
... only switched on,
if the switch is in its OFF position (in the
case of three-stage switches ON / ON /
OFF)
Mx2N
Mx3N
Special case: three-position switches:
In the menu Setup, Assignment, Switches you can
also assign three-position switches for Mix-1, -2 or -3.
In the centre position of the switch the following
switched functions are then available:
Mx1/2/3 Centre position equates to OFF
(effect ON / OFF / OFF).
Mx1/2/3N Centre position equates to ON
(effect OFF / ON / ON).
14.3. Menu: Assignment
If you press button L to open the main menu ¡Setup,
then select and activate Assignment, the following
menu appears (the content of the lines Mode, As-
signment and Name may be different).
Example:
a. Select Mode
Stick modes (Mode) 1 to 4 are possible.
The double arrows stand for é Rudder, è Elevator,
and indicate which stick is used to control those
functions:
Mode
Effect
1:è é
Elevator and rudder on left stick or pitch
and yaw on left stick
2: é è
Rudder left, elevator right, or
yaw left, pitch right
3: è é
Elevator left, rudder right, or
pitch left, yaw right
4: è é
Elevator and rudder on right stick, or
pitch and yaw on right stick
Aileron is assigned automatically. The unused
stick axis is generally used for throttle or spoilers
( 14.3.1.).
Roll is assigned automatically. The unused
stick is always assigned to collective pitch, and si-
multaneously controls the throttle via the throttle
curve.
b. Assignment
Assignments 1 to 5 are possible.
At this point you select which of the five assignments
for transmitter controls and switches is to be used
to control the model. Three pre-defined lists for
POWER, GLIDER and HELI are provided.
Note: the assignment lists are “global”, i.e. any
changes you make affect all models which are set
up using the corresponding list.
c. Name of the assignment
At this point a “descriptive” name can be entered for
the lists; it may be up to eight characters long.
14.3.1. Sub-menu Assign.Controls
When you select and open this sub-menu, all the
available transmitter control functions are displayed
on-screen, and you can determine which control ele-
ments are to be used to operate them.
