OPERATION
ENGINE STOP LEVER
Rsteasetheenginestoplever andtheengine
and the bladewillautomatloollystop. Torun
theengine, holdthe engine stop lever inthe
Operating position (Figure16).
Beforeyou startthe engine,operatethe en-
gine stop lover severaltimes.Makesurethe
cablemoves easily.

WARNING: Always use a safety
gsaoiine container. Donot smoke
A when adding gasoline to the fuel
tank. When inside an enclosure,
do not add gsaollne. Before you
add gasoline, stop theengineend
let the engine cool for several
minutes.
3. Make sure the spark plug wire is con-
nectedto thespark plug.
4. Move the throttle control,locatedonthe
engine, to the FAST pesitien.
5. The palmerbutfonisenthesideoftheen-
gine(Figure17).Pushthepdmer button.
Everytime you pushthe palmerbutton,
waktwoseconds.Forthenumberof timas
requiredto pushthe palmerbutton, see
the engine menufacturer'sinstructions.
HOW TO STOP THE ENGINE
Tostop the engine,releasethe engine stop
lever.D_connectthewire hornthesparkplug
to preventthe engine fromstarting.
if the engine willnot stop,held a screwdriver
against thesparkplugandagainstthe engine
coolingfins. The speakwill goto groundend
the engine willstop.Beforeyoustart the en-
gine,checkthe engine stopcable.Make sure
the enginestop cable Is assembledcorrectly.
Beforeyouoperate the unit,replacea bentor
damagedenginestopcebie.
HOW TO START ENGINE
WARNiNG: The blade will mtm
when the engine runs.
IMPORTANT:.Before you start the engine,
operate the engine stop lever several
times. Make sure the engine stop cebie
moves freely.
NOTE: A two speed throttle conVol Is Io-
rated on the engine, Setthethrottle control
In theFAST positionfor cuffing gross,bag-
glng grass, end for extended engine life.
1. Check the oil.
2. Fill the fuel tank with regular unleaded
gasoline, Make sure the gasoline is clean.
Leaded gasoline will increase deposits
and shorten the life of the valves.
NOTE: Do not use gasohol or methanol. Do
not use premium unleaded gasoline.

otherhandto holdthe recoil- start grip.
7. Ropidlypullthe recoil- stert gdp. Slowly
returnthe recoil, start grip.
