CHECK THE LEVEL OF CUT
Test the unit ina smell area. Ifthe height of cut
is not level or ifthe cut grass is notdischarged,
the cause can be: (1) the blade is bent or dam-
aged, (2) the blade is not sharp, (3) a worn
blade, (4) or a broken blade adapter. Before
you use the unit, correct the problem.

CAUllON: Be careful when you fold or
rstas the handle. Do not damage the
cable=. A cable that Is bent will not work
correctly. Bofomyou uvetha unit, replacea
bent or damaged cable.
How To Fold The Handle
1. Loosenthe fastenersthat holdthe upper
partof thehandle to the lowerpart ofthe
handle.Asyoufoldthehandle,makesure
thecables arenotmoundthe loosefasten-
ersand donot becomedamaged.Rotate
the upper part of the handle beck
(Figure22).
2. Remove thehstrpinsfromthelowerhan-
dle,Push Inontheendsofthelowerhen-
past the lockingpinsor lockingtabs.
3. Rotstethehandleforwmd ovm theengine
as shown.Make surethe cablesare not
damaged.

How To Raise The Handle
1. Pull the handle back unitl the ends of the
lower handle lock into position.
2. Liftthe upper pint ofthe handle into the op-
erstor's poeiUan. "l'i_ten the fasteners
that hold the handle.

NON- FOLDING UPPER HANDLES
For storage, fold the handle forweN.
How To Fold The Handle
1. Push In on the ends ofthe lower handle.
Move the ends ofthe !ower handle past the
locking tabs.
2. Rotate the handle forward over the en-
gine. Make sure the cables are not dam-
aged.

lowerhandlelockintoposition.
