Care & Maintenance
Muskoka Firebowls are designed to provide years of enjoyment with minimal
maintenance. It is recommended that you empty the fire bowl of unburned ashes if you
will leave the bowl outdoors for an extended period of time without use. This is to
prevent excessive moisture from being trapped in the base of the bowl for an extended
period of time.
Covering your fire bowl with our fire bowl cover, and storing the bowl indoors for
extended periods of non-use, will also prolong the life of your fire bowl.
Overtime the black high heat coating may begin to show signs of wear, or be scratched
from use. You can refresh the appearance of your bowl by applying a coat of high heat
STOVE PAINT, as is readily available at most hardware stores.
Installation
It is recommended that your fire bowl be set on a non combustible base, such as crushed
stone, sand, patio stones, or concrete. Please also follow local burning by-laws and
maintain a safe distance from combustible materials, buildings etc.
Safe Use
Your Muskoka Firebowl will function best with an initially large and hot fire to warm the
bowl and create a base of coals. Be sure to use dry wood, and never leave the bowl
unattended. Always have a means of extinguishing fire at hand when using your fire
bowl, as is responsible and prudent to deal with the possibility of errant embers and
sparks. It is also not recommended that you burn during times of high or gusty winds as
this increases the risk of blowing embers.
When you are done enjoying a fire, be sure to extinguish it thoroughly with an abundance
of water.
