Mounting Suggestions

2008-Up Harley-Davidson® Road King,

Wide Tripper Solo Seat

Tools Required:

Phillips Screwdriver

5/8” Deep Socket or Open-

End Wrench

7/16” Open-End Wrench

Hardware:

Solo Seat Mounting Nuts Mustang

Part#78032 or H-D equivalent

(Included)

Black Nylon Shoulder Washer x 2

(Included)

1/4” Chrome Washer x 2

(Included)

Baseplate Features:

The solo features a 16 gauge formed steel baseplate and is

a direct replacement for the stock solo. The solo has a single

nose clip and two chrome mounting tabs that align with the

fender studs.

Stock Passenger Seat Removal Steps

1. Remove the rear fender screw.

2. Slide the passenger seat back and up.

Stock Solo Seat Removal Steps

1. Remove the solo mounting nuts located at the back of the solo seat.

2. Slide the solo back and up.

Stock One-Piece Seat Removal Steps

1. Remove the rear fender screw.

2. Remove hand strap that is secured to the motorcycle on each side of

the seat where the front saddle bag mount is located.

3. Slide the stock seat back and up.

NOTE: To mount your new Mustang Solo seat

you will need Seat Mounting Nuts, Mustang

Part#78032 or H-D equivalent, which are

included.

Mounting of Mustang Seat 1. Engage nose of seat, pushing seat as far forward as possible so that the mounting studs in the fender are in the middle to back edge of the slotted tabs. 2. A firm downward punch or chop to the nose of the seat will push the seat closer to the chrome dash. 3. The seat is spring loaded so the rear tab will be above the fender approximately 1” to 1 1/2”. 4. The supplied nylon washers go between the mounting tabs and the fender. 5.
