Welcome Thank you for choosing the Mustek GSm@rt S40 Digital Camera. This camera is not resistant to water and should not be used outdoors in snow or rain. If accidentally dropped in water, please quickly dry it in sunlight or an air-blower. Protect this camera from excessive humidity, as it might wet the lens and produce blurry pictures. Do not attempt to disassemble the camera yourself. Always take it to an authorized service facility for repair.

Power Up Battery Installation 1. Open the battery cover. 2. Insert batteries in correct polarity(+ and -) as shown on the inside of the battery door. 3. Close the battery cover. Taking & Playback Pictures on the Camera Taking Pictures 1. Power on the Camera. By default, the camera will be in DSC (picture) mode every time it is powered on. 2. Frame your target through the LCD display or through the viewfinder. 3. Press the UP or DOWN button to zoom in or out on your subject. 4. Press the Shutter Button to take a picture. 5. To change exposure settings, hit the "Menu" button and change the "Exposure" option to the desired setting. 6.
Taking & Playback Videos on the Camera Taking Videos 1. Power on the camera. 2. Hit the "Menu" button and select "MODE". 3. Choose AVI and hit the "ENTER" button. 4. Press the Shutter button to start recording. 5. Press the Shutter button again to stop recording. Playback Videos 1. Press the "Enter" button. You can view your files by using the "Previous" and "Next" buttons. 2. Use the "Enter" button to playback an AVI movie file. 3. Press "Enter" button for 3 secs again to return to Camera or Video mode.

Transferring Images When connected to a computer in Mass Storage mode, the camera will appear as a Removable Disk in the computer. Files can then be copied from the camera to the computer. (Turn on the camera and connect with USB cable . The camera will set to "Mass Storage" Mode.) Transferring pictures and video to your computer 1. Turn the camera on, then connect your camera to a computer via USB cable. 2. In Windows (ME/2000/XP), your PC will detect the camera after connection.
