COM3/COM4 DC SUPPLY SELECT
STATUS OF JP14 ON SOLDER SIDE PIN 9 STATUS
1 – 3 short COM3 Pin9 connected to 5 V DC
3 - 5 short COM3 Pin9 connected as RI
2 – 4 short COM4 Pin9 connected to 5 V DC
4 - 6 short COM4 Pin9 connected as RI
Please note that the 5 V DC supply should be selected only for supporting the
Posiflex serial devices that are designed to be powered from this source. Whenever
such Posiflex device is to be removed from this port, the 5 V DC supply must be
deselected.
SOFTWARE AWARENESS OF UPS STATUS
STATUS OF JP16 ON SOLDER SIDE COM1 PIN1 SIGNAL
1 – 2 short Normal (DCD signal)
2 - 3 short Detect UPS status
The UPS status is used to inform the software the power source the system is
operating on (AC adaptor or UPS battery). The default of this jumper is set to detect the
UPS status to enable the software detection on existence of AC power. When the DCD
bit of COM1 is set, the AC power is present. The user has to change this jumper if
he/she wants to detect the standard DCD signal on COM1.
