Care and Maintenance

FIRECLAY SINKS
Fireclay sinks have become increasingly popular due to their durable nature. They do not rust or
discolor, however it is important that they are properly cared for. Below are several guidelines to
follow when cleaning your fireclay sink.
CLEANING YOUR FIRECLAY SINK
Always rinse your sink thoroughly after every use and wipe down with a dry cloth to prevent water
spotting.
For a more thorough cleaning, we recommend using a soft sponge or cloth and a mild abrasive.
Daily cleaning with mild abrasives will not harm the surface of your fireclay sink.
Fireclay sinks are made using a durable glaze for years of performance. On the occasion that a
metal pot or pan may leave a mark on the surface of the sink, we recommend using a mild
abrasive cleaner such as Bar Keeper’s Friend.
To keep a nice luster on your sink, and easy to keep clean, apply a coat of Flitz Fixture Wax to the
surface. Be sure it is clean and dry first. This is the same type wax you apply to your car. Make sure
you rub the wax in until you have removed all the residue. This will also alleviate water spots.
Fireclay resists scratches and chips better than any other ceramic material, however, in the rare
occurrence that you may chip your sink it is important to fix it as soon as possible. Repair kits are
available at home improvement stores, and are very easy to use. It will come with everything you
need to repair and seal the chip.
