PROPER CARE AND TREATMENT
We want your bookcase to last as long as possible, so we recommend that you tighten screws first
2 weeks after assembly and for an added safety check the tightness of all screw every 2 months.
Wood:
You'll usually want to avoid cleaning MDF (Medium-density fibreboard) with water but those coffee
spills do happen. When necessary clean MDF surface with a slightly wet cloth and immediately dry
thoroughly. For that morning after hard to remove residue, use a bit of chemical-free (including
bleach) mild soap.
To ensure that your bookcase will retain their durable surface for many moves to come, treat only
the base (solid wood) of the bookcase with wood treatment oil when it starts to wear or become
dry. Avoid the use of commercial waxes or polishes, glass cleaners or abrasive (fancy word for
rough) cleaning materials, as they might damage the finish. *Do not treat the bookcase top, as the
material is MDF and will not react well to any wood treatment.
Metal:
Wipe up spills as they happen with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Avoid abrasive cleaning solutions,
chemical solvents, strong detergents, cleaners with bleach, or furniture polish.
