Getting Started
Access Point Hardware Installation
Access Point Hardware Setup explains how to quickly setup the Access Point for
use via a wired Ethernet connection, and using the factory default settings. For
installation in networks using other than the default settings, i.e. into existing
networks, complete the Hardware Setup and refer to AP COMFig Tool, page 13.
To setup a wireless station, refer to the PCI/PC Card User

Step1 . Screw the antenna into the back of the AP (see Figure 5). Placing the
antenna in a higher location may result in better signal
transmission/reception to/from the wireless stations (see Placing For
Performance, page 8)

Step2 . Connect the Ethernet network cable to either the UTP port (see Figure
5). If both types of cables are connected at the same time, the AP will
only utilize the UTP connection first
Step3 . Connect the power adapter to the electricity outlet and then to the
Access Point DC-In port (see Figure 5 )
Step4 . Turn on the AP power switch
