WEP Key Generation
– There are two ways to create a WEP key:
The first is by entering text in the Passphrase field and then clicking
Generate
.
For 40-bit WEP, four WEP keys will be generated – Key 1, Key 2, Key 3, and
Key 4. You must select the key currently being used on the network. If you do
not select a key, Key 1 will be selected. For 128- and 256-bit WEP, a single
key will be generated.
The second way to create a WEP key is by inserting the key values directly
from the keyboard. If the key is not entered correctly, a client cannot access
the resources. If WEP is enabled on the AP, all clients must use the same WEP
key to connect to it.
