er spikes make Sempervivum an asset in any
garden! Commonly known as Hens and Chicks,
these hardy succulents thrive in poor, dry soil and
handle frigid winter weather with ease. Hens and
Chicks are perfect for decorative containers, xeri-
scaping or rock gardens, and can even be used
to create living wreaths and centerpieces.
Caution: Do not assume any plant is safe to
eat. Only parts of plants expressly grown to
be eaten should be considered edible. As with
any product that is not food, care should be
taken to make sure that small children and
pets do not ingest any part of the plant that is
not expressly grown to be eaten.
