6.3.1 Deck Flavors and Structure

As described in section ↑6.1.1, Decks, TRAKTOR's software Decks can have three different

Flavors, depending on the type of audio material you want them to handle: Track Deck, Remix

Deck or Live Input.

▪ By default, Decks A and B are Track Decks when TRAKTOR is configured for use with

TRAKTOR KONTROL S4.

▪ Decks C and D are Remix Decks then.

2 Track Decks + 2 Remix Decks is the intended layout when TRAKTOR is configured for

use with the S4. See also ↑7.5, The Setup Wizard for further information on configuring

TRAKTOR using the Setup Wizard; however, you are not restricted to use this configuration,

both Decks on the S4 can control Track Decks and Remix Decks in TRAKTOR.

Selecting Deck Flavors

For TRAKTOR KONTROL S4, it is recommended to use the Track Deck Flavor for Decks A and

B, and the Remix Deck Flavor for Decks C and D; however, you can control any Deck Flavor

with the S4's Decks. To change the Flavor of a Deck:

Select the Flavor in the TRAKTOR Preferences via the settings in Preferences > Decks >

Deck Flavor.

Click on the Deck letter in a Deck's upper right corner and select a Flavor from the drop-

down menu:
