Parameter Description
Key Adjusts the base key for the selected pad. See section ↑5.1.3, Adjusting the
Base Key below.
Choke Configures the Choke Group for the selected pad. See section ↑5.1.4, Using
Choke Groups below.
Link Configures Pad Link for the selected pad. See section ↑5.1.5, Using Link Groups
below.
5.1.2 Choosing a Pad Mode
By default, your pads play all Sounds of the selected Group — we call this Group mode. Fur-
thermore they are velocity sensitive, meaning they will play louder if you hit them harder. You
can change this behavior and choose another pad mode in order to adapt your pads to various
situations.
5.1.2.1 Choosing a Pad Mode on the MASCHINE STUDIO Controller
Changing the behavior of the pads using Pad Mode:

To enter Pad Mode, press and hold PAD MODE. You can also press PAD MODE + But-
ton 1 to pin this mode and make it permanent.

If your controller is in Group mode (default mode) the right display shows the name and color
of the Sound played by each pad.
The Pad Mode provides two Parameter pages for Knob 1–4 under the left display. As usual,
use the Page buttons at the left of the displays to select a Parameter page.
