(3) Control encoder: Lets you scroll through the instrument presets in the Browser’s result list
as well as through the TYPES and MODES filters. Alternatively, you can adjust the overall out-
put volume of the active KOMPLETE KONTROL instance by pressing SHIFT and simultaneous-
ly turning the encoder. For more information on volume control, see section 4.2, Header.
(4) PRESET buttons: Skips to the next instrument preset in the result list.
(5) BACK button: Lets you move one step back in the hierarchy of the Browser.
(6) ENTER button: Lets you select the focused item on the on-screen overlay or enter the next
level in the hierarchy of the Browser.
(7) Navigate arrows: Navigates the on-screen overlay Browser by setting the focus on its sepa-
rate sections. You can also use the arrow buttons for host control as described in section
5.4.2, Automatic Track Focus and the Navigate Section.
6.6.1 Browse Mode and Hardware Browsing
KOMPLETE KONTROL provides two ways of browsing with the KOMPLETE KONTROL S-SER-
IES keyboard, called Browse Modes:
By default, pressing the BROWSE button calls up the on-screen overlay on the computer
screen, which gives you a full overview over the current state of the Browser, controlled
from the NAVIGATE section on the keyboard. The KOMPLETE KONTROL Browser workflow
with the on-screen overlay is described in detail in the following chapters.
Alternatively, you can use only the hardware for browsing your KOMPLETE KONTROL Li-
brary. In this case, the Browser functions are mapped directly to the keyboard’s Control
section, making the KOMPLETE KONTROL Browser workflow available without using the
computer screen. For more information, see below.
You can set the Browse Mode under Navigate on the Hardware page of the KOMPLETE KON-
TROL Preferences:
