INSTALLING:
Our stone is installed just like tile, using thin-set and cutting with a wet saw. You can install on exterior stucco surface, cement boards and masonry
block. Installation on interior surfaces can be done the same way as exterior or on surface like drywall or plywood. Make sure substrate is attached
properly to the structure prior to installation and read instructions on using thin-set to insure maximum adherence onto substrate. Natural Stone Veneer
product has been created and engineered to be installed on an existing foundation without major preparation to the structure, which would make
the stone one of the lightest natural split face stone on the market. Therefore, it can be installed with thin-set, and higher elevations can be achieved,
creating endless possibilities.
For Ledge stone at 8lbs/sqft you can go up to 40 feet high without mechanical attachment.
For 6” Split Face at 6lbs/sqft you can go up to 50 feet high without mechanical attachment
For 8” Split Face at 8lbs/sqft you can go up to 50 feet high without mechanical attachment
For 12” Split Face at 12lbs/sqft you can go up to 26 feet high without mechanical attachment
The above values are generalized. You should ALWAYS check local building codes for the approved installation system of stone veneer.
For added structural support to your drywall substrates, we recommend you install truss washer screws into your drywall through the studs. Though
this is not necessary, the added assurance from an inexpensive preparation will ensure the stability of your drywall substrate. The truss washer screw is
at and thus will not interfere with the installation of our Natural Stone Veneer.
GROUTING:
Grouting will depend on your taste and the look you are trying to achieve. Our product can be butt jointed with no grout line. You decide!
Sometimes grouting is used in a freezing climate to prevent water from getting behind the stone.
SEALING:
Sealing the stone is not necessary. However, it can be added as extra protection, especially for the grout lines and/or to prevent damage if regularly
exposed to water. Two sealants can be used deep sealer or surface sealer. The deep sealer will not change the natural look of the stone, whereas the
surface sealer will enhance the colors of your stone and can add either a glossy or a matte nish. Simply wet a sample with water to demonstrate the
color after surface sealing.
Our stone is virtually maintenance free. You can sand blast or pressure-wash the stone depending on the depth of the stain. All above gure can be
changed depending on your jurisdiction and construction code enforcement. Check with your local structural engineer for all the specics on your
project.
