Monitoring NTP Servers
The
NTP Server Status
section displays tabular information on the NTP servers connected to
the network. The table includes remote name, IP address, delay, offset and jitter.
•
Remote Name:
Displays the host name of the referenced time source. An asterisk (*) in
the first column marks the reference time source that is currently preferred by the
NTP daemon. A ‘+” character in the first column marks high quality candidates for
the reference time that could be used if the currently selected reference becomes
unavailable.
•
IP
: Displays the IP address associated with the
Remote Name
. In some cases the
Remote Name
could be the IP address.
•
Delay:
Displays the round-trip delay (in ms) of the time queries.
•
Offset:
Displays the difference (in ms) between the reference time and the system
clock.
•
Jitter:
Displays the magnitude of jitter (in ms) between several time queries.
Managing NTP Servers
The
Manage Servers
section displays the NTP server files that have been added. You can
Add
to the list of NTP servers or
Delete
a selected NTP server from the list.
