Dual In-Line Memory Modules (DIMMs)

How Much Memory Do You Need?
The amount of RAM installed in your printer governs which resolutions can be
used with each media size. You may also need additional memory to print at
maximum performance.
Minimum System Memory Requirements
You may also need additional memory (DIMMs) for the following:
„ To print complex graphics or complex PostScript documents
„ For increased collation performance
„ For increased spooling performance

Notes
* “Basic” memory requirement is the minimum memory
required to print at the indicated resolution. “Full speed”
mode for letter/A4 and smaller sizes refers to the ability to
put either 1 or 2 images on one pass of the OPC belt. You
get the fastest speed when you run 2-up (automatically
controlled by the printer), and you need more memory to
support this.
**“Maximum Performance” memory requirement is the min-
imum memory required to achieve the maximum perfor-
mance possible for any given job. The page rate, with
maximum listed memory, will be determined solely by the
complexity of the job.
***N/A = Not applicable. These two sizes cannot be autodu-
plexed.
