DESKTOP DISPLAYS WITH WHITE LED BACKLIGHT
The LED Backlight not only offers improved performance, but also draws
less power and most importantly it replaces CCFL backlighting and is
therefore free from Mercury and Halogen, significantly reducing any harm to
the environment associated with this display.

ECO INNOVATION IN DESKTOP DISPLAYS
With the launch of the EA Series, NEC paved the way for the adoption of
displays that allow the user to manage their environmental impact, this
initiative has been continued with the implementation, where possible of
ECO Modes, Carbon Meters and Sensors into our new display products.
With the latest LED backlight technology the EX231W operates on a very low
power consumption level, while we also eliminate hazardous substances
like mercury in the backlights. Sustainability is at the heart of the product
concept with human, luminance and ambient light sensors, to detect
changes in light and the presence of a viewer, so the display constantly
adjusts to the power level needed and no more.
Due to the extremely light and thin concept and packaging innovation, we
use less materials in production of the display itself and in it’s transportation.
There is less ‘difficult to dispose of’ waste, less consumption and we can
ship 100 EX Series displays using the same resource as was previously
required to ship 60 displays.
DESKTOP DISPLAY ECO SENSORS
Features such as the Ambient Light Sensor and the Human Sensor which
powers the display down to stand by when the user leaves their seat and
re-powers the display on their return, actively reduce costs of operation and
costs to the environment.
ECO INNOVATION IN SIGNAGE SOLUTIONS
Larger screens are generally run for longer durations and also require
greater power to reproduce an image especially where they are placed in
bright environments.
Our ECO Innovations, targeted at reducing power draw when it is not
required. Ambient light sensing, which is incorporated into most of our large
format models, works with a sensor on the front of the display that detects
the ambient light conditions and where possible lowers the brightness so
the screen image is still clearly visible but less bright.
In-built ‘ECO schedulers’ allow the operator to define when the display
should be on and off, or operate in an ECO mode or at lower brightness.
The user can also at any time select ECO mode reducing the power use until
reset and carbon savings can also be read, via the in-built carbon meter
accessible in the OSD.
