NAMES AND FUNCTIONS OF COMPONENTS
The names of the components of the server switch unit are shown below. Check the name and
position of each component.
FRONT VIEW (CONSOLE PANEL SIDE)
(1) Server selection lamp (green)
When a server is selected, the respective lamp will be lit. In hot key mode, the lamp will
blink.
(2) Server online lamp (green)
The server online lamps will be lit when the power of the servers are ON.
The server online lamp will blink when an abnormal internal voltage is detected. If this
occurs, Check to see if the AC cord is connected properly. If the lamp still blinks, a failure
in the server switch unit may have occurred. Contact your sales agent or service
representative.
(3) Auto scan switch
Press this switch to sequentially scan the server screens.
Press this switch again to halt the auto scan.
During the auto scan, the server selection lamps will blink slowly in sequential order; no
server operations can be performed at this time.
(4) Server selection switch
Press one of the server selection switches to select the respective server.
A server with an unlit server online lamp may be selected.
(5) Reset switch
The reset switch is not used under normal operations. This switch is used if none of the
servers can be selected or the keyboard and/or mouse does not function. Press the reset
switch with a metallic pin.
Pressing the switch will reset the server switch unit to its initial state. The server switch
unit can be reset to its original state without restarting the servers.
