SELECTION OF SERVER ON KEYBOARD (HOT KEY MODE)
You can select a server using a keyboard (in hot-key mode).
There are two hot-key modes; OSD (On Screen Display) selection mode and direct selection mode.
When the server switch unit enters the hot-key mode, the OSD screen appears on the console. The
Scroll Lock LED on the keyboard blinks rapidly, and the other LEDs (Num Lock LED, Caps Lock
LED) are turned off.
Keyboard and mouse operation for the server are disabled during hot-key mode.
If the server switch unit enters OSD mode while the selected server is in suspended status (no image
signal (H Sync or V Sync) is sent from the server), the image signal of the other server is used to
display the OSD menu. In this case, the OSD menu flashes at interval of 5 seconds. The OSD menu
returns to normal state when the image signal is input to the selected port.
NOTE:You cannot enter the hot key mode while key entry is disabled
(e.g., during OS start up). Wait until key entry to the server is
available, and retry to enter hot key mode.
If any key is pressed during OS startup, the server selection switch on
the console panel will be disabled. Press the reset switch to restart the
server switch unit, and then press the server selection switch once again.
NOTE:Hot key mode is enabled while the DIP switch settings 1 to 3
are ON. If you can't operate the hot key feature, check the DIP switch
settings.
