The server switch unit can not enter auto scan mode.
Is the server switch unit in hot key mode?
If no, enter the server switch unit into hot key mode referring to Chapter 2 and press the
<0> (zero) key.
Is the key entry correct?
If no, press the <0> (zero) key.
A server cannot be switched in hot key mode.
Is the key entry correct?
Press the corresponding <1> to <8> keys for the desired server in the master unit then
press the corresponding <F1> to <F8> keys for the desired server in the slave unit.
Was a key pressed during OS startup?
Keys should not be pressed during OS startup. Reenter after OS has completed.
When a key is pressed during OS startup, the server selection switch on the console panel
will be disabled. Press the reset switch to reset the server switch unit, then press the
server selection switch once again.
The switching period of the auto scan is invalid.
Is the switching period configured properly?
Modify the switching period correctly using the cursor keys (<> and <>).
When the power of a server is turned on, the server selection lamp does not light.
Are the keyboard and mouse ports on the server working properly?
The keyboard and/or mouse ports on the server may be defective. Contact your service
representative to ask for a repair of the ports.
Is the interface cable correctly connected?
Check the cable connection referring to Chapter 1.
Check if either or both of the cable connectors are defective and if any connector pins are
bent or dirty. If the cable is defective, contact your service representative to request a
replacement of the cable.
