SELECTION OF SERVER VIA SERVER SELECTION SWITCH
(NORMAL MODE)
To select a server, press the server selection switch of the desired server. When the server is selected,
the server selection lamp of the designated server will light. The name of the selected server will be
displayed in the upper left corner of the screen for approximately three seconds. In a cascade
connection, the desired server can be selected by pressing the switch on the desired slave server switch
unit, or by pressing the switch on the master server switch unit and then pressing the switch on the
slave unit.
By pressing the auto scan switch, the server selection lamp will blink at a slow rate and the display
screen will automatically be switched from one server to the next in the specified time cycle. At this
time, the console will display the switching cycle. To modify the switching rate, press the ↑ or ↓
keys. Pressing the ↑ key will set the switching rate to be faster, while pressing the ↓ key will set the
switching rate to be slower. Whenever either of the ↑ and ↓ keys are pressed, the switching period
will be toggled between 3, 5, 10 (initial value), 20, 40 and 60 seconds. Any server with the power
being OFF will be skipped. During the auto scan, key entries to the servers and mouse will be
unavailable. Before the server switch unit can be moved to the hot key mode, auto scan must be
terminated.
Auto scan can be terminated by either of the following methods:
Press the auto scan switch or the Enter key. The screen will be then switched to that of the currently
displayed server.
Press the Esc key. The server which was selected prior to the auto scan will be selected.
NOTE:The auto scan function is unavailable while the server is
booting. If you erroneously pressed the auto scan key, cancel, and
select a server using the server selection key.
