Displaying rack information
When you click [Rack Information] on menu bar with Blade Enclosure inter connect being enabled,
the rack information shared through the Blade Enclosure inter connect appears.
The displayed data consists of the rack name and its unique ID in the General Information part at
the top, and Blade Enclosure names, STATUS, POWER and ID LEDs and IP addresses of EM cards
in the Blade Enclosure list part at the bottom.
When you click the [HTTP] or [HTTPS] button, the Web console of the active EM in the Blade
Enclosure opens in separate window.
When you click the [telnet] link, the command line console for the active EM on the Blade Enclosure
opens in separate window.
TIPS:
If a specific login password is set in the EM card installed in each of the Blade Enclosures
connected with each other through the Blade Enclosure inter connect, only clicking the [HTTP]
or [HTTPS] button allows the Web console for the EM card to open without password entry.
When login passwords vary depending on EM cards, the login screen opens.
The telnet link feature may be disabled depending on the OS of management console or
configuration of Web browser. With Internet Explorer Ver. 6 of Windows XP and Mozilla
FireFox 2.0, it is confirmed that the telnet feature is available by the default setting.
To disable the Blade Enclosure inter connect, click the [Open the blade enclosure inter connect
configuration] button at the bottom of the screen to open the [Blade Enclosure inter connect
configuration] screen. Clicking [Disable] at the lower part on the Blade Enclosure inter connect setting
screen disables the Blade Enclosure inter connect for all the Blade Enclosures connected.
IMPORTANT:
If you select [Enable] or [Disable] on the Blade Enclosure inter connect setting screen, then the
previous screen (Rack Information) appears again. However, the Rack Information screen does not
redisplay the information automatically. Click the [Reload] button at the upper right corner to display
the latest information.
However, if you click the [Reload] button just after the previous screen (Rack Information) is
redisplayed by selecting [Enable]/[Disable], all the information may not always be displayed (because
it takes some time to collect information from other chasses). If so, wait for a few
seconds and click the [Reload] button.
