Switching KVM/DVD
If you select [1: KVM/DVD Sel] on Main Menu, the KVM/DVD Select screen appears.
The slot number of the connecting CPU blade is displayed on the screen.
TIPS:
In the above example, the local KVM is connected to the CPU blade in slot 4, and the local
DVD and the local USB port are connected to the CPU blade in slot 8.
At power-on of the Blade Enclosure (initial state), the slot 1 is selected for KVM/DVD.
Selecting “E” in [DVD Select] fields allows EM card to use DVD/USB. Select “E” when
updating EM firmware or collecting EM log. Note, however, while “E” is selected, DVD/USB
will be disabled for all CPU blades.
IMPORTANT:
If the EM card is not connected correctly or does not operate normally, the protection feature
may work to disable connection of KVM and DVD/USB. When KVM or DVD/USB is not
available though the correct CPU blade has been selected, check if the EM card operates
normally.
If you select DVD/USB while the CPU blade is working with DVD/USB devices, a malfunction
may occur. Select DVD/USB after the CPU blade finishes its operation.
Do not connect or disconnect the KVM or DVD/USB while the CPU blade is being activated.
Otherwise, the CPU blade may fail to start.
Press [↓] or [↑] button to increase or decrease the number at the cursor position in the range between 1
and 16.
Press [→] or [←] button to move cursor horizontally to switch selection between KVM and DVD.
Press the [Enter] button to determine the setting you have made, and to return to the Main Menu.
Press the [Menu] button to return to the Main Menu without changing the setting.
