IMPORTANT:
Updating by this feature is performed to an active EM. After updating, the EM is rebooted
automatically.
If two EM cards are installed, the active EM is switched to another EM card by switchover feature.
In duplex EM card system, firmware version both of them must be the same.
If only one EM card is installed, a bridge feature and SNMP feature are stopped while rebooting.
Accordingly, the connection via management LAN of CPU blades and switch module is temporarily
disconnected.
In addition, system monitoring by NEC ESMPRO Manager is temporarily disabled. If a timeout error
occurs, connect them again after the EM has rebooted.
When you select “USB” on Select Media menu but the USB memory is not installed, the following
message is displayed.
Install the USB memory in the USB port of the Blade Enclosure.
The following message is displayed when the USB memory is installed but not connected with the
EM card.
Select “EM” in [DVD] field on KVM/DVD Select menu.
The following message is displayed when proper update file is not found in USB memory.
TIPS:
The update data files are stored in the top directory (folder) of USB memory with the following file
names.
“emfw*.tgz”: a compressed file which start with “emfw” and ends with “tgz”
If no CD-ROM is set in the DVD-ROM drive when you select “DVD” on [Select Media] menu, the
following message is displayed.
Set the proper CD-ROM in the DVD drive of the Blade Enclosure.
The following message is displayed when the CD-ROM has been set but the DVD-ROM drive is
not connected with the EM card.
