Chapter 7
Server Management Software
This chapter describes the server management software.
NEC ESMPRO Manager/Agent
NEC ESMPRO Manager and Agent are a set of server management applications that provide stable
and efficient operation of server systems.
NEC ESMPRO Manager is installed on a console with a LAN network port connection to monitor
configuration information and the status of CPU Blades.
NEC ESMPRO Agent is installed on servers such as CPU Blades to quickly notify the management
console of failure information.
This chapter only provides precautions limited to EM Card function. For instructions on how to install,
configure, and operate ESMPRO/ServerManager and ServerAgent, see their respective installation
guides and the Users Guides and Instruction Manuals for the CPU Blades.
NEC ESMPRO Agent is available in EXPRESSBUILDER (if this is supplied with the CPU Blade).
NEC ESMPRO Manager is also available for download from the following website.
http://www.nec.co.jp/pfsoft/smsa/download.html
* The version of NEC ESMPRO Manager included in EXPRESSBUILDER supplied with CPU
Blades does not support N8405-040F (Blade enclosure (SIGMABLADE-Hv2)). NEC ESMPRO
Manager Ver4.42 or later supports this product.
* Some CPU Blades do not contain EXPRESSBUILDER. In this case, refer to documents
including Before Use supplied with the CPU Blade.
Configuring IP Addresses for NEC ESMPRO Manager
To send SNMP traps to NEC ESMPRO Manager, you must use the CLI ADD SNMP
TRAPRECEIVER command to assign IP addresses to the connection or to the LAN console in
which ESMPRO Manager is running. For details, see Using Command Line Console Features
and Command Specifications.
