NEC DianaScope Manager/Agent
NEC DianaScope provides remote control capability to enable you to reduce operational and
management costs.
NEC DianaScope basically comprises “NEC DianaScope Manager,” which operates on the
management PC (called the “NEC DianaScope server”), and “NEC DianaScope Agent,” which
operates on the servers being managed. (A management PC connected via a network port is also used.)
NEC DianaScope Manager communicates with EM cards in a Blade enclosure to collect information
and monitor embedded modules.
For instructions on how to install, configure, and operate NEC DianaScope, refer to NEC
DianaScope‟s Installation Instructions and the User‟s Guides and Instruction Manuals for the CPU
Blades.
NEC DianaScope Manager and NEC DianaScope Agent are distributed from the following website.
You can download and use it from the site. (Before installing, check the details in “Installation
Procedure.”)

Setting a user password in NEC DianaScope Gateway
DianaScope Manager requires you to enter an authentication key at the time of server
registration. Enter the password that you set in advance with the “SET DSGPASSWORD”
command in CLI on the EM card.
For details, see “Initial Settings,” “Command Specifications,” and the DianaScope Installation
Manual.
Setting the status in NEC DianaScope Gateway
To use NEC DianaScope Manager‟s monitoring feature, the NEC DianaScope Gateway Status
(Enable/Disable) must be set to Enable (the default is “Enable”).
You can check the status of DianaScope Gateway with the CLI “SHOW DSGSTATE”
command on the EM card.
For details, see “Command Specifications.”
Setting the IP address for EM cards
To use NEC DianaScope, the last digit of the Active EM‟s Floating IP Address must be a
multiple of four (e.g. 192.168.1.4 or 192.168.1.8).
You can check the IP addresses of EM cards with the CLI “SET NETWORK
ADDRESSRANGE” command on the EM card.
For details see “Command Specifications.”)
