 Using SFP ports
When you use an SFP port, note the following:
Important
To connect optical fiber cables, expertise in cable forming and handling is
required. Cabling should be done by a person with such expertise.
Handle optical fiber cables with care.
Allow at least a 50 mm-radius when you bend an optical fiber cable.
Do not forcibly squeeze the connector of an FC cable into an FC connector. The
connector of an FC cable should be inserted correctly at the proper angle.
Excessive force is not necessary to insert the connector of an FC cable into an
FC connector. If you cannot insert it successfully, do not attempt to forcibly
insert it. Check the direction of the connector of the FC cable.
When you connect a cable, check that its connector and contact surface are not
damaged or dirty.
Verify the connector type of the cable and the socket to avoid incorrect cabling.
Carefully handle connectors. Do not allow the connectors to drop on the floor.
When a cable is connected, do not apply excessive force to the connector and
cable parts. Do not step on cables or put heavy items on them. Cables may be
distorted if they are stepped on or have heavy items placed on them.
Do not forcibly push the connector of a cable into an FC connector, doing so
may result in degradation of the light output and malfunction.
