Installing and Removing SFP Module
The following describes how to install and remove a N8406-024 1000Base-SX SFP Module in the N8406-023 1Gb
Intelligent L3 Switch.
IMPORTANT:
・ Attach dust covers to all unused LC connectors to protect them
from contamination when storing or transporting the Switch
Module.
・ The optical power and sensitivity of a SFP Module may be
degraded if it comes into contact with dust or other contaminants.
・ Install the SFP module into the SFP module slot carefully. Do not
forcibly install it to avoid damaging the module.

Do not look directly at the laser beam.
The N8406-024 1000Base-SX SFP Module is classified as a Class 1 Laser Product.
Looking directly at the laser may damage your eyes. Do not look directly into the SFP
module port during operation. Keep any unused LC connector covered with a dust cover
(rubber cap) when not in use or when transporting it.
Installing SFP Module

Remove the dust cover attached to the SFP module slot in the Switch Module.

Insert the SFP module into the SFP
module slot in the Switch Module.

NOTE: Insert the SFP module to the SFP module slot without pulling
down the lever. If you insert it with the lever pulled down, a communication
failure may occur.
