APPENDIX C: RELAYS
RELAY USED IN NEDAP READERS
The relays used in the Nedap readers used for RFID applications for libraries are Single Side Stable.
This implies that the switch contacts in the relay remain in a normal or stable position as long as no
power is applied to the coil. There is a normally open (N/O) and a normally closed (N/C) contact.
When power is applied to the coil, the contacts move to a new position, but stay in that position as
long as power is applied to the coil.
RF TEST
With RF Test, the closed time settings can be adjusted to support the hardware connected to the
reader.
