Settings
Account
• Sign-in & security: You can change settings about signing in to Google, review device activity and security
events, manage apps with account access, etc. here. To protect your account with a quick review of security
settings and activities, tap GET STARTED in Security Checkup.
• Personal info & privacy: You can view your personal information, contacts information, and manage your
Google activity and Ads settings as well as controling your content here. To quickly review and adjust
important privacy settings, tap GET STARTED in Privacy Checkup.
• Account preferences: You can review your purchase history and which payment methods are stored in your
account in Google payments center. You can also set other preferences such as language, Google Drive
storage, delete individual Google services like Gmail from your account, etc.
Services
• Ads: Your advertising ID displays on the Ads screen. Tap Reset advertising ID to replace your advertising
ID with a new random number. Switch on Opt out of Ads Personalization to instruct apps not to use
your advertising ID to build profiles or show you personalized ads, but you will still receive adds. Tap Ads by
Goolge to view more ads.
Note:
If you clear your cache, you will lose your opt-out settings.
• App preview messages: App preview message allows you get messages that are sent to you from messaging
apps that you don’t have. You get these messages as notifications and you can reply from the notifications.
Follow the steps below to turn on/off the feature. Tap Learn more for more details.
1 ) Turn on the switch and then verify your phone number so that people who have it can connect with
you across Google services.
2 ) You will get a text message with a code. Enter the code received to verify. Then you can start using
this feature.
3 ) To turn off the all apps preview messages, turn off the App preview messages switch. To turn off
one app, turn off the switch of an app under Connected apps.
• Cast media controls: Contro media that’s playing on Chromecast (Chromecast, Chromecast Ultra, Chromecast
Audio, TVs and speakers with Chromecast built-in) and Goolge Home devices directly from Cast media control
notifications on Android

. To see Cast media control notifications, your mobile device must be on the same
Wi-Fi networks as your Chromecast or Google Home device. Also, you’ll see a notification for all Chromecast
and Google Home devices that are on this same Wi-Fi network. Turn on the switch to control media from
Cast devices through a notification.
Note:
You won’t see notifications when casting YouTube or YouTube Music content from your phone. Tap Help for more
details.
• Connected apps: You can see all apps and devices connected to your Google account.
• Data management: Tap Update Drive-enabled app files to choose whether update over Wi-Fi only or
update over Wi-Fi or Cellular.
• Google Fit: With Google Fit, you can link all your fitness information to your Google account and share that
information with the rest of the apps and devices you use to work out. When you want to view your sports
information or get relevant analytics, just open Google Fit. Tap -> Help & feedback to learn how to use
this feature.
• Location: For details, see Location.
• Nearby: Nearby is an Android feature that shows you apps and websites for what’s around you.
1 ) Before using this feature, turn on mobile data, Bluetooth and Location first. For how to turn on these
three features, see Mobile data, Bluetooth and Location.
2 ) After switch on Notify you when links are available, you will see links on the screen when things
around you are providing apps or websites. To mute notifications from a specific source, touch and
hold on the link in the list. Tap -> Add to Home screen, and the Nearby shortcut will display on the
