The data speed aachievable from the 3G27WV-R 3 is relativee to this signal s strength, whicch is affected by many environmental factors.

3G27WV-R First Time Simple Configuration Wizard When you log in to your Rocket™ Hub for the first time, you will be presented with the Rocket™ Hub “Set-up Wizard” as shown in the screenshot below. This wizard can be skipped by clicking on the link shown on the screenshot below. You can re-run the Setup Wizard again anytime after first use by selecting the “Startup Wizard” option under the “Administration” tab in the Advanced View of the management console. 3G27WV-R The SSID (Service Set Identifier) is the name of your wireless network. Use a unique name to identify your wireless network so that you can easily connect from your wireless clients. This field is case sensitive and can be up to 32 characters. You should change the default SSID for added security. SSID Broadcast: Select ‘Disable’ to hide the SSID of your 3G27WV-R. If disabled, other people will not be able scan and detect your 3G27WV-R’s SSID. Click “Next” to continue.

It can be accessed by clicking on the “SSwitch to Basic view” button from the top oof the status page. You can also configure the connection operating mode. To configure your Internet connection, select the applicable Profile name and assosciated settings from the “Profile Name” pull down menu.

3G27WV-R Advanced Features The basic configuration interface is intended to provide access to all the settings that most people will want to use on their 3G27WV-R. There are advanced settings available if desired which are accessible by viewing the advanced settings pages. Click “Switch to Advanced View” for configuring the advanced features of your 3G27WV-R.
Inteernet Settings WW WAN This page allows you to ssetup your WWAN (W Wireless Wide Area Network) connection. Figure 14 - Advanced View – WWAN Settings OOPTION DEFINITION Profile Name Description for the profile APN Please enter the APPN name you wish to conneect to in this field. Please don’t edit this unless you aree aware of what effect it wiill have. MBB NAT Enabled by Default, this option allows you to sswitch NAT (Network Addreess Translation) on or off.

Ban nd Settings The band settings page eenables you to selecct which frequency baand you will use for yyour connection and enable e you to scan foor available network ooperators in your areea. The default setting of “Auutoband” should be appropriate M and then clickiing the scan button.

Select the WAAN connection type suuitable for your enviroonment and configure re parameters accordding to the selected connnection type. STAATIC (fixed IP) If your WAN connection uuses a static IP addreess, please select “SSTATIC (fixed IP)” andd fill in the required innformation in the fieldds provided.

3G27W WV-R DHCCP This connection will get the IP address from the Internet service provider. Leave everytything as default unless instructed by yourr Internet Service Proovider. This is optionaal, and only required if youur service provider asks youu to do so.
PPPPoE (ADSL) Most ADSL/ADSL2+ servvices use the PPP oveer Ethernet protocol. Use this if you are uttilising a fixed line brroadband service. Operation Mode; TThere are 3 options: ‘Always on’ Keeps the Internet connection alive, does not discconnect.
3G27W WV-R PPTTP This connection type enaables the 3G27WV-R to connect to a VPN server via a bridgedd WAN device. Any device connected to the 3G27WV-R can thhen access the VPN based resources available. User Name/Passwword Type in the username and a password assigned byy your provider.
WANN Failover Backup The WAN Failover Backuup feature of the 3G27WV-R is designed too provide a backup MMBB Internet connecction in case your prim mary connection shoould fail. The 3G27WV-R sends ping requests to the sppecified Internet Host to verify whether thee Internet connectionn is online and functiooning.
3G27WV-R LAN LAN functionality of the 3G27WV-R can be configured from this page. Using this page, a user can change the LAN Subnet, gateway IP address, DHCP settings, Static DHCP Lease settings, and many others. Figure 23 - Advanced View - LAN Settings YML38 www.netcommlimited.

3G27WV-R Advanced Routing This page allows you to configure static and dynamic routing rules for your 3G27WV-R. Figure 24 - Advanced View - Advanced Routing Settings Advanced Routing – Static Static Routing allows computers that are connected to your 3G27WV-R to communicate with computers on another LAN segment which are connected to it via another router. To set a rule, you need to specify the following: Destination Range – Select from Host (255.255.255.

3G27WV-R Wireless Settings Basic This page allows you to define the basic wireless settings for the 3G27WV-R. Figure 27 – Advanced View – Wi-Fi Settings Radio On/Off: Wi-Fi is turned on by default. Changing this option to OFF will turn OFF the wireless functionality on the 3G27WV-R and you will not be able to connect to your 3G27WV-R wirelessly. OPTION DEFINITION Network Mode; There are 5 modes to select from: 11b/g mixed mode: Both 802.11b and 802.

Data Beacon Ratee (DTIM): Enter a value beetween 1 and 255 for the DDelivery Traffic Indication Message M (DTIM).
3G27WV-R Security This page allows you to configure the wireless security for your 3G27WV-R. Setting up sufficient wireless security can prevent unauthorized access to your wireless network. Figure 29 ‐ Advanced View ‐ Wi‐Fi Security Settings OPTION SSID Choice: DEFINITION Select the SSID that you wish to configure the security settings of. Security Mode: Select the security mode for the wireless network.
WEPP WEPP (Wired Equivalent PPrivacy) helps prevennt against unwanted wireless w users accesssing your 3G27WV-RR. It offers a lower levvel of security in compparison to WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK. Entter the Security S Key you wouuld like to use in the WEP W Key 1 field. Clickk Apply to save the ssettings. WPAA-PSK/WPA2-PSK A neewer type of security is WPA-PSK (TKIP) and a WPA2-PSK (AES). This type of securitty gives a more secuure network compare to WEP. Use TKIP Enncryption Type for WPA-PSK W and AES forr WPAA2-PSK. After that, pleease enter the key inn the Passphrase fieldd. The key needs to bbe more than 8 charaacters and less than 63 6 characters and it can be any combinaation of letters and numbers. Please note thaat the configuration foor WPA-PSK and WPAA2-PSK is identical.

Not all wireless w adapters suppport WPA-PSK/WPA22-PSK/WPA/WPA2 seecurity; Please refer too your wireless adappter user guide for moore details.
WP PS WPSS is the simplest way to establish a connection between wireless clients and your 33G27WV-R. This methhod removes the need to manually select the encryption modee and fill in the passsphrase. You only neeed to press a button on both wireless clieent and the 3G27WV--R, and the WPS will do the rest for you.
3G27WV-R Figure 35 ‐ Advanced View ‐ WPS Settings ‐ Enabled OPTION Status: DEFINITION If the wireless security (encryption) function of this wireless router is properly set, you will see a ‘Success’ message here. Otherwise, you will see ‘Idle’. SSID: This is the network broadcast name (SSID) of the router. WPS Auth Mode: It shows the active authentication mode for the wireless connection. WPS PIN: This is the WPS PIN code of the wireless router.

3G27WV-R Firewall Mac/IP/Port Filtering This page allows you to setup MAC, IP and port filtering rules to protect your network from malicious activity. The filtering rules can be used to either allow or block certain users and/or ports from accessing the Internet.
Port Forwarding g This page allows you to cconfigure port forwarrding rules to allow reemote users to accesss services such as Web W (HTTP) or FTP onn your local computeers. This allows you too redirect a particular port number (from the Interneet/WAN port) to a partticular LAN IP addresss. 3G27WV-R DMZ If you have a client PC that cannot run an Internet application (e.g. Games) properly from behind the NAT firewall, then you can open up the firewall restrictions to allow unrestricted two-way Internet access by defining a DMZ Host. The DMZ function allows you to re-direct all packets going to your WAN port IP address, to a particular IP address in your LAN.

3G27WV-R Language Settings Select which languge you would like the management console to utilise Administrator Settings (account/password): Configure a new administrator username and password. NTP Settings: The NTP (Network Time Protocol) settings allow your router to synchronize its internal clock with the global Internet Time. These settings will affect functions such as System Log entries and Firewall settings.
Sysstem Monitorr Figure 43 ‐ Advannced View ‐ System m Monitor Settings The Periodic Ping Reset Monitor configures thhe 3G27WV-R to transmit controlled ping packets to user speccified IP addresses. If the router does nott receive a response to the pings the routeer will rebooot. The purpose of thhis feature is to ensurre recovery of the device if the internet coonnection disconnectts and does not reconnect for some reasoon.
3G27WV-R Update Firmware This page enables you to update the firmware which controls the 3G27WV-R should an update become available. To update the 3G27WV-R firmware, perform the following steps: 1. Download the firmware update file and save it to your computer. 2. Click “Browse” and navigate to where you saved the file downloaded to your computer. 3. Select this file and click “Open”. 4. Click the “Apply” button and follow the on-screen prompts.
