Configure Global MRP Settings
You can configure global MRP settings for the switch.
To configure global MRP settings:
1. Launch a web browser
.
2. In the address field of your web browser
, enter the IP address of the switch.
The login window opens.
3. Enter admin as the user name, enter your local device password,
and click the Login
button.
The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must specify a
local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in.
The System Information page displays.
4. Select Switching > MRP > Basic > MRP Configuration.
Note: The fields available on the MRP Configuration page vary based on the
platform and its supported features.
5. Select the MVRP Mode Enable or Disable radio button.
This specifies the global administrative mode of MVRP on the device. The default is
Disable.
Multiple VLAN Registration Protocol (MVRP) registers VLANs in the network, enabling
automatic VLAN configuration on the device. In a typical network, VLAN tagging is
common. Many nodes require ingress traf
fic to be tagged with a specific VLAN ID, and
other nodes require egress traffic to be transmitted with a specific VLAN ID. With the use
of MVRP on both ingress and egress, no manual VLAN configuration is required to pass
tagged traffic through the network.
6. Select the MMRP Enable or Disable radio button.
This specifies the global administrative mode of MMRP on the device. The default is
Disable.
