The volume is deleted. The disks that were part of the volume become available
again for other purposes (the color of the disks turns black).
Name a USB Drive
The first time you insert a USB drive in to your ReadyNAS system, the system creates
and assigns a label. At any time you can also assign a name and you can change the
label. The name becomes the name of the share while the label is shown in other devices
such as a Windows-based computer.
If you assign a name, the name must be unique across all of the shares on your system,
including across any other USB drives you use on the system.
1. Log in to the Admin Page.
2. Select Shares > Shares.
A list of shares and LUNs on each volume displays.
3.
Click the gear icon for the share.
4.
Edit the contents of the Name or Label fields (or both).
5. Click the OK button.
The window closes and the name and label are updated.
