Manage link aggregation
Both the Orbi Pro router and satellite support link aggregation, which lets you set up a
link aggregation group (LAG) between the router and a satellite, between two satellites,
between the router and a switch, or between the satellite and a switch. The switch must
support 802.3ad link aggregation for static LAGs.
A LAG connection allows you to group two 1 Gbps LAN ports into either a single 2 Gbps
connection for increased throughput or a 1 Gbps connection for redundancy.
Link aggregation is enabled by default on the router and the satellite, so you do not
need to configure it. However, you must configure link aggregation on the switch before
you make the cable connections to the router or switch.
Add a link aggregation group
You can add a link aggregation group (LAG) between the router and a satellite, between
two satellites, between the router and a switch, or between the satellite and a switch.
The switch must support 802.3ad link aggregation for static LAGs.
To add a LAG:
1.
If you want to add a LAG between the router and a switch or between a satellite and
a switch, first do the following on the switch:
Configure static link aggregation on the two Ethernet ports that you plan to use for
the LAG connection to the router or the satellite.
To prevent a network loop, configure the switch ports before connecting them to
the router or satellite LAN ports.
2.
Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your
Orbi network.
3. Enter orbilogin.com.
A login window displays.
