I t is case-sensitive and m ust not exceed 32 charact ers (use any of the
charact ers on the keyboard) . Make sure this sett ing is t he sam e for all
point s in your wireless network. For added securit y, you should change t he
default SSI D ( default ) to a unique nam e.
Cha n n e l: Select the channel used for wireless com m unicat ion. There are
11 overlapping channels. Channels 1, 6 and 11are non- overlapping. The
default is channel 6.
Click Apply when you have finished the configurat ion above.
Please set up aut henticat ion and Encrypt ion m ode to set up Valid and Safe
wireless connect ion after sett ing Basic Wireless param eters.
6 .4 .2 W ir eless Securit y
This wireless AP provides com plet e w ireless LAN securit y functions; include
WEP, WPA wit h pre- shared key and WPA2 wit h pre- shared key. Wit h these
securit y functions, you can prevent your wireless LAN from illegal access.
Please m ake sure your wireless stations use t he sam e securit y funct ion.

6 .4 .2 .2 W EP
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is an encryption m et hod used to prot ect your
wireless dat a com m unicat ions. WEP uses a com binat ion of 64- bit or 128- bit
keys to provide access cont rol t o your net work and encrypt ion securit y for
every dat a transm ission.
