Appendix : Troubleshooting

1 . I ca nnot a ccess t he W eb- based Configu ra t ion Ut ility from t he
Et her net com put e r used to configure t he AP.
Check t hat t he LAN LED is on. I f t he LED is not on, ver ify t hat t he cable for
the LAN connection is firm ly connect ed.
Check whet her t he com put er resides on the sam e subnet with t he AP’s LAN
I P address.
I f t he com puter act s as a DHCP client, check whet her t he com put er has
been assigned an I P address from the DHCP server. I f not , you will need to
renew t he I P address.
Use the ping com m and to ping the AP’s LAN I P address t o verify the
connection.
Make sure your browser is not configured to use a proxy server.
Check t hat the I P address you entered is correct. I f t he AP’s LAN I P address
has been changed, you should ent er the reassigned I P address inst ead.
2 . I forge t Passw ord ( Reset t h e AP w it hout Login)
Reboot t he AP.
Press and hold t he default but t on wait for a few seconds until the CPU LED
indicator stays green.
After t he above those st eps, t he m anufacture’s param eters will be restored
in t he AP. The default password is “ guest ”.
3 . M y w irele ss client cann ot com m un icat e w it h a not he r Eth ernet
com pu t er .
Ensure t he wireless adapter functions properly. You m ay open the Device
Manager in Windows to see if the adapt er is properly installed.
Make sure t he wireless client uses t he sam e SSI D and security set t ings (if
enabled) as the Wireless Access Point .
Ensure t hat t he wireless adapter’s TCP/ I P set tings are correct as required
by your net work adm inist rator.
I f you are using a 802.11b wireless adapter, and check t hat t he 802.11G
Mode item in Wireless Basic Set ting page, is not configured to use 802.11G
Perform ance.
Use the ping com m and t o verify t hat t he wireless client is able t o
com m unicat e with t he AP’s LAN port and wit h t he rem ote com put er. I f the
wireless client can successfully ping the AP’ s LAN port but fails t o ping the
