2) Remote shutdown (and activate the phone password at power on)
If the user wants to remotely shut down the phone, he can send to the NGM Phone (with its remote control
enabled) an SMS containing the following text:
*#SHUTDOWN*#
Example:
- if the phone number with the NGM remote control enabled is +390000000000;
- if the phone number to remotely control the phone is +391111111111 (trusted number).
The operations sequence shall be:
a) +391111111111 send one SMS to +390000000000 with the content: *#SHUTDOWN*#.
b) +390000000000 receive one SMS from +391111111111 and automatically shut down.
c) the phone password is automatically activated, so that it will require the use of the password at the next start-
up. If the password is correctly inserted, the phone shall starts regularly, and won't require the use of the
password anymore (except for the case of the user that choose this particular setting).
Note: the SMS content is “case insensitive”, so it may be indifferently written with capital letters, lower-case
letters or a combination of the two.
3) Activate the answering machine
If the user wants to record all the incoming calls on the answering machine, he can send to the NGM Phone (with
remote control enabled) an SMS containing the following text:
*#ANSW*#
Example:
- if the phone number with the NGM remote control enabled is +390000000000;
- if the phone number to remotely control the phone is +391111111111 (trusted number).
The operations sequence shall be:
d) +391111111111 send one SMS to +390000000000 with the content: *#ANSW*#.
e) +390000000000 receive one SMS from +391111111111 and automatically activate the answering machine
for both the SIM cards.
f) all the incoming calls on +390000000000 shall be recorded on the answering machine.
Note: the SMS content is “case insensitive”, so it may be indifferently written with capital letters, lower-case
letters or a combination of the two.
Privacy firewall
After digiting the phone password (the default password is ―1122‖), you can enable/disable from here the locking
on Phonebook, Messages, Call History and the Keypad encryption.
Answering machine
The built-in Answering machine allows people to leave voice messages for you when you can't answer your phone.
Messages: Here you can listen to the recorded phone message that are stored in memory.
SIM1/SIM2 Settings: From here, you can toggle on/off the auto answer, select the storage path, fix the
pickup time (3, 5, 10 or 30 seconds), fix the record duration (30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes
or unlimited), use the default greeting message or select one from your audio files, enable/disable remote
access using any DTMF telephone.
For the remote access, with the above said option enabled, you need a DTMF (touchtone) telephone. When
the answering machine has picked up the call, you'll hear the invitation to leave a message; at this point
you can digit ―#‖ and then wait for the prompt to digit your password (1234 as default).
