Installing Last Course
•Install KuraStone™ pieces in moderate contact with any soffit or ceiling
(soffits or ceilings should be installed first).
• Cut pieces to fit top row height.
Situation 1
Cut pieces are taller than the clip length (greater than 90mm/3.5 inches).
• Attach clips vertically (on the side grooves of the pieces at all the joints).
Situation 2
Top row cut pieces are shorter than the length of the clip, but greater than
the height of the starter.
2.4 inches < Cut Pieces < 3.5 inches
• Cut the starter track into 4-inch-wide strips.
• Attach these strips to the sheathing, using two (2) screws, at each vertical
joint.
• Fit KuraStone pieces into the starter strip where they join.
Situation 3
Cut piece is shorter than starter track.
Cut piece < 50 mm/2”
• Screw a cut piece of Nichiha corrugated shim (FS1005) behind each piece
vertical joint, apply construction adhesive. Face fastening of piece may be
required. Pre-drill holes when face fastening KuraStone pieces.
