CABLES 1. Insert the device interface cable (fig. 3) into the device interface port (fig. 1-7). 2. To remove the device interface cable, pull back on the finger grip to release the clamping mechanism. 3. The RS232 PC Interface cable is for internal Night Optics USA use only. 4. The USB cable can be connected to any Microsoft Windows™ based computer to access the contents of the SD Card. When connected the device controls will not function. 5.
POWER MANAGEMENT Battery Charging A battery charger, rechargeable batteries and all necessary cables have been provided as part of your kit. Please read the following carefully to ensure proper use. 1. Install the batteries into the charger according the diagram on the charger. 2. Connect the appropriate wire for wall charging or car charging 3. An LCD screen will indicate proper installation by displaying an icon of the battery charging. 4.
OPERATION Help Menu In menu mode scroll to the menu option “Help” and press the “M” button to select the Help Menu. Press the “+” & “-” buttons to navigate the Help Menu. Press “M” to exit the Help Menu. Button Layout Menu (Note) Scroll to the menu option “Note” and press the “M” button to turn icon display on the right side of the screen “On or Off.” This mode also activates on-screen instructions.
OPERATION Image & Video Playback Menu (Replay) In menu mode scroll to the menu option “Replay” and press the “M” button. Follow the on-screen instructions to navigate between images and video content stored on the SD Card (fig. 1-9), play and/or delete.
OPERATION Formatting the SD Card (Format) In menu mode scroll to the menu option “Format” and press the “M” button. You will be prompted with a dialogue box. Follow the on-screen instructions. You have the option to exit this feature or confirm that you would like to continue formatting the SD Card. Once the process is complete the dialogue box will confirm a successful reformat, at which point you can you follow the on-screen instruction to exit.
OPERATION Cross Hair / Reticle Menu (Curser) In menu mode scroll to the menu option “Curser” and press the “M” button to select from 3 cross hair options: Figure 5 Real Time Tracking Menu (Hot) The Real Time Tracking feature when enabled will highlight the hottest objects in your field of view and follow them if they are in motion. In menu mode scroll to the menu option “Hot” and press the “M” button. The available options are “On and Off.
OPERATION Polarity Polarity is a setting that uses positive/negative color levels to indicate the difference in temperatures. Under positive polarity mode, brighter areas represent higher temperatures. While under negative polarity mode, brighter areas represent cooler temperatures. Press “M/P” button (fig. 2-2) momentarily to switch between 2 polarity modes. The poliarity setting can be used in conjunction with all 9 available color palette options (See page 10 Color selection menu).
STORAGE & MAINTENANCE 1. Do not point the thermal device at very high intensity radiation sources such as the sun, carbon dioxide lasers or arc welders etc. 2. Remove the batteries when storing or transporting the the thermal device. 3. This device is built with sensitive electronics, avoid exposure to static electricity and/or eletrical shock. 4. Disassembling this device void the warranty. Contact Night Optics USA, Inc. for calibration or repair. 5.
TROUBLESHOOTING 1 2 3 Problem The unit will not power up. Probable Cause Check batteries or power input. Make sure battery door is closed properly.
WARRANTY The TM-X is covered by a limited 2 year warranty from time of sale. The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser. The manufacturer warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period. If the product proves to be defective during this period, the manufacturer will repair the original product or replace it with a like product at the sole discretion of the manufacturer.
