B The Setup Menu: Camera Setup
Format memory card
To begin formatting, select Ye s . Note
that formatting permanently deletes all
pictures and other data on the card.
Before formatting, be sure to make
backup copies as required.
Save user settings
Save to U1 Assign frequently-used settings to the
U1 and U2 positions on the mode dial
(0 83).

Reset user settings
Reset U1 To reset settings for U1 or U2 to default
values (0 85).

clock, synchronize the clock with the

A Formatting Memory Cards
Do not turn the camera off or remove the battery or memory card
during formatting.
In addition to the Format memory card option in the setup menu,
memory cards can be formatted using the O (Q) and S (Q) buttons:
keep both buttons pressed simultaneously until formatting indicators
are displayed and then press the buttons again to format the card.
