This option controls flash sync speed.

Description
· Use auto FP high-speed sync with 58-900, 58-800, 58-600,
and 58-R200 flash units.
If other flash units are used, shutter
speed is set to 11320 s. When the camera shows a shutter
·speed
of 11320 s in exposure mode P or Fl, auto FP high-
speed sync will be activated if the actual shutter speed is
faster than 11320 s.

of 11250 s in exposure mode P or Fl, auto FP high-
speed sync will be activated if the actual shutter speed is
faster than 11250 s.

B Fixing Shutter Speed at the Flash Sync Speed Limit
To fix shutter speed at the sync speed limit in shutter-priority auto or
manual exposure modes, select the next shutter speed after the slowest
possible
shutter speed (30 s or bulb). An X (flash sync indicator) will be
displayed in
the control panel and viewfinder.
B Auto FP High-Speed Sync
Allows the flash to be used at the highest shutter speed supported by
the camera, making it possible to choose the maximum aperture for
reduced
depth of field even when the subject is backlit in bright
sunlight. The information display flash mode indicator shows IJFP"
when auto FP high-speed sync is active.
