D Framing HDR Photographs
The edges of the image may be cropped out.
The desired results may
not be achieved if the camera or subject moves during shooting.
Use of
a tripod is recommended.
Depending on the scene, shadows may
appear around bright objects or halos may appear around dark objects;
this effect can be reduced by adjusting the amount of smoothing.
A The D Button
If HDR (high dynamic range) is selected for
Custom Setting f8 (Assign BKT button; 0 316),
you can select the HDR mode by pressing the
D button and rotating the main command
dial and the exposure differential by pressing
the D button and rotating the sub-command
dial.
The mode and exposure differential are
shown in the control panel: y and F appear
when On (series) is selected and y when On
(single photo) is selected; no icon appears
when HDR is off.
A Interval Timer Photography
If On (series) is selected for HDR mode before interval timer shooting
begins, the camera will continue to shoot HDR photographs at the
selected interval (if On (single photo) is selected, interval timer
shooting will end after a single shot).
Ending HDR photography ends
interval timer shooting.
A Shooting Menu Banks
HDR settings can be adjusted separately for each bank (0 269), but
switching to a bank in which HDR is active during multiple exposure
(0 195) or interval timer shooting (0 201) disables HDR. HDR is also
disabled if you switch to a bank in which an NEF (RAW) option is
selected for image quality.
